Deniece at Work
What does a day in the life of an Associate Performance Campaign Manager at AUDIENCEX look like?
First, breakfast! Then, I’ll put on my Account Manager hat in the morning and start the day by responding to emails, sending out reports, and jumping on and off client calls. After lunch, I’ll put on my Media Buyer hat and tap into my technical side – where you can find me setting up, launching, and optimizing my campaigns on the daily!
How have you adjusted to working from home during the pandemic?
Since I’m naturally a homebody, I’ve adjusted pretty well to working from home during the pandemic. I love that my commute is only a 10 second walk to my desk, and that I can make a home cooked meal for lunch (if I’m not too busy)!
Tell us a little about your professional experience prior to joining AUDIENCEX & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I started off my career in Adtech as a Sales Development Representative at Adtaxi. In my pursuit to become a more knowledgeable seller, I reached out to my teammates on the Ad Operations team, and through those conversations, I became fascinated with the technical aspect of the advertising industry and eventually switched teams. Now, in my role as an Associate PCM at aX, I am able to blend my client-facing sales experience with my behind-the-scenes Ad Ops expertise!
Outside the Office
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
When I’m not busy optimizing, you can find me driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, grabbing a cup of Philz Coffee, or ordering takeout from Sugarfish!
What’s the last show you marathoned, and what about it has you hooked?
That would definitely be Wandavision! I love everything Marvel, and I love how they incorporated American sitcoms into Wanda and Vision’s story. I wish the episodes were longer!
What are you listening to lately (podcasts, music, etc)?
Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts! Right now, I’m really into This Might Get Weird, The Reroute by Good Humans Only, and Bachelor Happy Hour.
Tell us one or two fun facts about you.
I love Broadway musicals, and my all-time favorite is Wicked! Fun fact: I’ve seen Wicked FOUR times—the most recent time was on a trip to New York right before the pandemic. Once the world opens up again, my next show is Hamilton!
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AUDIENCEX team so far?
Every Thursday, our tech-strategy team has a virtual happy hour where we can just catch up and go through our high-lows of the week. This is by far my favorite part of the week, especially since it can be difficult staying in touch while working from home!
Hypothetically Speaking
What are 3 things you think are going to change in the advertising industry in the next 3 years? Why?
Working in an industry that’s constantly evolving, a lot can change in three years! For one, we all know that the cookie-less future is coming. In the next few years, we will definitely be seeing how advertisers will change their tactics and strategies in response to this. Two, I would hope and imagine to see more diversity and inclusion in ad campaigns. And three, just in general, probably more efficiencies and capabilities with programmatic advertising!
What type of ad do you think you’ll be targeted with next? Why?
Probably retargeted social ads from Urban Outfitters because they see me scrolling the app way too much!
What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?
I’m definitely looking forward to traveling again in the next 5 years! Italy is next on my bucket list.
