The Role

AUDIENCEX is growing out a best-in-class analytics team under the Director Strategy, that will transform the way our team utilizes data both internally and externally.

The Business Analyst is a well-rounded individual with a strong background in data science, who can think creatively about data/analytics and translate their analysis into compelling insights that shape strategic recommendations. This person is a problem solver with a keen understanding of data wrangling, analysis and interpretation of complicated, disparate, large-scale datasets. They need to be technical, focused on results, a self-starter, and have demonstrated success in using analytics to drive the understanding, growth and success of new products or services in prior roles.

Internally this individual will serve as a liaison with other divisions such as Technology, Finance, Contracts, Sales, Ad Operations and Client Services in an effort to to improve internal operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance in support of aX’s evolving tactical business objectives. While externally, the analysis generated on a project basis for our clients will help them to understand the reactions of customers to their products and services, which in turn affects strategic recommendations we put forth – audience segmentation, media analysis including attribution, driver and performance analysis, portfolio analyses and more.

This is the ultimate data playground, giving this individual the opportunity to work across multiple businesses, platforms and services. We are looking for a candidate that is excited by this opportunity, eager to build out best practices foundation and spearhead the growth of this division.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of delivery for designated clients/projects
  • Collaborate with campaign teams to identify opportunities where our analytics offering can add value
  • Gain an understanding of marketing plans and client objectives to be able to assist with comprehensive measurement, and test & learn plans
  • Develop analytical techniques to analyze results from experiments/studies/observations
  • Explore methods/techniques for solving business problems given the data available
  • Help internal teams and external clients understand the capability and limitations of specific data methodologies used. I.e. being able to explain the differences between a true Multi-touch attribution model and what Google Analytics is able to track/report on
  • Develop and present compelling and innovative presentations

Requirements:

  • Degree in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Physics is a plus, but not required
  • Hands-on Experience with statistical software packages (R, SPlus), programming languages (SQL, Python) and with statistical models for multivariate testing, time series analysis, logistic/linear/non-linear regression. Supervised, and Unsupervised machine learning a plus.
  • Expert at Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience working with relational databases. Experience with ‘big data’ systems (Google Cloud Products, Qubole, Hive/Spark) a plus.
  • Ability to communicate your findings effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to use the story to create new analytical products or change an existing product in a way that improves company goals and metrics.
  • Knowledge of the data science lifecycle – acquiring data from different sources, exploratory analysis, creating and optimizing models, validation and interpretation, and finally onward communication of results in a clear and succinct fashion.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience
