aX Profile: Daniela Isaza, Graphic Designer

AUDIENCEX has many different departments, all equally important to the success of our company—from sales and account management, to creative and marketing—each department works together to keep things running smoothly.  Graphic Designer Daniela Isaza plays an integral part on the creative team, helping us to design ads, decks, and other sales collateral, and create video content. We caught up with her to learn more about her role at AUDIENCEX and about her life outside of work.

Daniela at Work

What does a typical day look like for you?

A day for me at aX starts by organizing my schedule and prioritizing my tasks for the day. This helps me stay organized and on track with everything even though every day comes with different tasks. Sometimes I work on designing guides, ads, and creating visual assets for our blog, other times I help to organize assets or create decks for RFP’s and webinars.

What was your prior work experience before joining AUDIENCEX & how did they prepare you for your role here?

Before AUDIENCEX, I had the amazing opportunity to intern at NBCUniversal in Miami, where I worked in their digital department creating assets for their series, social & streaming platforms, website, and print materials. After interning for NBCU, I moved to Los Angeles and began working for a swimsuit brand,  where I learned more about motion graphics and marketing.

What makes AUDIENCEX the right fit for you?

aX is the right fit for me because it has provided me with the opportunity to work with many different companies and non profit organizations, and on a variety of projects. Not only have I expanded my experience, but I continue to learn from my teammates every day.

One of our core values is around being driven to continuously improve. How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?

Continuous improvement is one of my personal goals as well. I love asking my teammates and directors for insights once a project gets off the ground, and take note of which areas I can improve on. Another thing that has helped me grow professionally and personally is meditation and self awareness. I like taking a moment in the morning to meditate, and during the day I like browsing around for inspiration and by researching the projects other designers around the world are working on. These things in particular help me stay inspired and creative.

How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?

I always try to keep great communication with my teammates, and keep abreast of what each person is working on, just in case they need help. I love to provide insight about creative details, such as designing a new layout, sourcing images or creating motion graphics.

Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?

Yes! Having someone you can reach out to to ask questions is probably the best resource one can have, especially in this field. Now that we’re working from home, I turn to my boyfriend for input on projects. I love seeing how he reacts to a design once it’s completed, this helps me to prepare for my teammates’ opinions. Professionally I see our Art Director, Alvaro, as my go-to resource for creative guidance.

Daniela Outside the Office

What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?

My activities and hobbies have changed massively this past year because of quarantine. Before going out with friends, exploring new places, and restaurants were my favorite things to do. Now that I’m home a lot, my hobbies consist of home workouts, cooking, watching new series or documentaries, and organizing my music library.

We have a lot of dogs in the office, but what’s your favorite animal? Why?

I love all animals so much! Lions have always been one of my favorite animals because I think they are so cool. I also just love dogs. They are the most amazing, loyal, and fun company you can have.

Which app or game is capturing your attention in the in-between moments of your day? Why?

This sounds basic, but the music app is the most used app on my phone. It is the only app I use all day every day.

What’s the last show you marathoned, and what about it has you hooked?

Since the start of the pandemic, I have been binging so many shows, but the one I am hooked on right now is Friends. This is the third time I watched this show, but it always makes me laugh so hard.

What are you listening to lately?

I rarely listen to podcasts but I do listen to music all day—and my music choices are so varied. In one work day, I might listen to pop, ballads, salsa, tropical, reggaeton, and EDM. My choice in music typically depends on my mood. Recently, I have been checking different countries’ Top 100 Charts on Apple Music. I love exploring new music from all over the world!

What’s a fun fact about you that people don’t really know?

Most people don’t know that I started modeling when I was 7 years old after winning a national beauty pageant. I was discovered by an agent who saw me walking around a grocery store with my mom.

What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AUDIENCEX team so far?

My favorite moment at aX was the virtual trivia game we participated in during our holiday summit. It was so fun to break out into teams with coworkers I don’t normally work with. I also got to meet a few new people!

Hypothetically Speaking

What type of ad do you think you’ll be targeted with next? Why?

Clothing! 90% of the ads I see revolve around clothing because I love to shop.

What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?

In the next five years I want to create my own non-profit organization to help bring education to women and children in rural areas. I also look forward to being able to travel again and tour all of South America.
